TASER X2 Professional Series: Everything You Need to Know

Posted by Anthony Carli on 7/9/18 2:47 PM

You've learned everything you need to know about our Civilian Line (TASER Pulse, TASER Bolt, TASER StrikeLight) and the TASER X26P from our Professional Series. Now its time to learn about our last product, the TASER X2, from our Professional Series.

While the TASER X2 conducted electrical weapon (CEW) was initially designed for law enforcement applications, the device is available for purchase by non-law enforcement personnel and security professionals looking for extra protection. The TASER X2 provides users 2 cartridges ready to fire, while the TASER Pulse and TASER Bolt each require a reload after every deployment of a single cartridge.

Like the X26P, the X2 provides the user a 15-foot safety range, and can deliver 5 seconds of NMI, allowing professionals to apprehend their target and assist device owners in making a safe escape.

Product Features:
Powerful Protection: The X2 features a 15-foot (4.6 m) reach, contact stun, and delivers a 5-second cycle during which the target can be apprehended. If necessary, such as in cases of a missed target, the X2 contains a backup shot that can be immediately deployed at any time after the first shot.

Class 3R LASER Targeting: The X2 is equipped with both top and bottom LASERs that are aligned to the approximate trajectories of the top and bottom probes, respectively, at a 15-foot distance. Combined with a powerful LED flashlight, target acquisition is made simple.

Warning ARC: When the device is armed, pressing and holding the ARC switch, a button on the body of the device adjacent to the trigger guard, arms a Warning Arc. This causes a stream of electricity to arc in front of the loaded cartridges without discharging them. The Warning Arc may allow the user to deter a subject without having to use actual force.

Data Capture: The X2 has a highly advanced download function that, unlike other modes of force, provides documentation of the date, time and duration of each firing. The dataport also provides professionals with a powerful management tool to track usage patterns and prevent misuse. The data download record includes the following information for the last 2,000+ discharges:
1. Date, time, and duration of each discharge in both GMT and local time;
2. Temperature and DPM battery percentage remaining at each discharge;
3. Record of any time changes made to the CEW memory; and
4. CEW serial number and current software version.

Central Information Display (CID): The CID is a display on the rear of the TASER X2 that provides information about the device. When the device is fired, the CID will display a count indicating how many seconds remain in the deployment cycle.

Reliable: The TASER X2 is a trusted device used by law enforcement agencies around the world. The device has a long history of reliable service for law enforcement and professional security.

You've learned all about the TASER Pulse and the TASER Bolt devices, now here is what you need to know about the TASER StrikeLight stun flashlight, the only pure stun-gun manufactured by TASER.

While the TASER StrikeLight does not provide the same 15-foot safety bubble (4.6 m) as the TASER Pulse and the TASER Bolt, its high-intensity flashlight, high-voltage contact stun, and discreet design can provide added comfort and safety for those evening dog walks or nights on the town. In case of a potential attack, move the flashlight button into the ON position, press the yellow stun button, and drive the front of the flashlight into the attacker.

The TASER Bolt: Everything You Need to Know

Posted by Anthony Carli on 6/21/18 11:30 AM
You already learned everything you need to know about the TASER Pulse, now its time to learn about the TASER Bolt. The TASER Bolt is simple to use, safe to own, and effective when you need it.

The TASER Pulse and the Bolt devices operate very similarly but differ in their shape. The Bolt's sleek shape is designed for off-body carry, and attracts less attention than the TASER Pulse, which is shaped like a subcompact concealed carry pistol. The TASER Bolt uses the same cartridges as the TASER Pulse, which provide the user with a safety bubble of 15 ft (4.6m).

Designed with ergonomics in mind, the Bolt is made with a safety cover that minimizes the possibility of an inadvertent activation of the trigger button. When the safety cover is closed, the Bolt is in SAFE mode, and when the safety cover is open, an LED illuminates the trigger button to indicate the Bolt is armed. In the rare event of an accidental discharge, the safety cover should be immediately closed to stop the device's cycle.

The TASER Pulse -Everything You Need to Know

Posted by Anthony Carli on 6/12/18 11:00 AM
Last week we covered how to safely draw, fire, and escape with a TASER Pulse. Today, we will go over everything you need to know about this TASER device.

The TASER Pulse is simple to use and safe to own. With this device you can go about your day-to-day activities with the added protection of carrying a less lethal weapon.

The Pulse is built with your safety in mind. Made with angled mechanical sights, a sloped trigger guard, and shaved safeties, these features ensure that you are protected when drawing, holstering and carrying your device. The Pulse is also built with a high visibility flashlight and targeting laser to assist with rapid and accurate target acquisition. The TASER Pulse utilizes the same cartridges as the TASER Bolt, giving users a safety bubble of 15 ft (4.6 m).

For comparison, the safety distance provided by stun guns is up to an arm's length, and pepper sprays about 8 feet. This can leave a motivated attacker at close range if he/she is able to fight through the effects of these self-defense tools. With a safety distance of 15 ft. and neuromuscular incapacitation (NMI), the TASER Pulse helps to ensure that you are never defenseless.

PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS
  • Lightweight: Weighing just 8 ounces, the TASER Pulse is a lightweight but durable product, providing the extra-protection without any added bulk.
  • Pocket-Sized: Measuring at 4.67 in X 5.16 in. (11.8 x 13.1 cm), you can carry your TASER Pulse with a variety of holster options or the soft-carry sleeve included with every purchase. The Pulse can easily fit into your waistband, briefcase or purse.
  • Powerful Protection: The Pulse features a 15-foot reach, contact stun, and delivers a 30-second cycle, ensuring you have the time and means to make a safe escape. The TASER Pulse delivers 50,000 volts and just a few milliamps from the device to the cartridge's probes, helping ensure NMI is achieved.
  • Reliable: TASER is the brand trusted by law enforcement agencies around the country, and the TASER Pulse features a replaceable battery designed to last for 2 years, or 50 thirty-second cycles.

Whether you have a TASER Pulse or TASER Bolt, proper maintenance is integral to ensuring that you're ready to protect yourself and loved ones in a real-world situation.

We recommend that TASER device owners perform a simple “spark test” once a month. A spark test occurs when you safely arm your device WITHOUT a cartridge, pull the trigger and allow the device to go through a full 30-second cycle (5 seconds with an X2 or X26P device).

This ensures the TASER device is working properly and helps identify any routine issues that need to be addressed. A spark test will ensure that electricity is adequately arcing across the front of the device and gives vital information on battery performance.

Spark tests also help new TASER device owners learn what a functioning TASER device sounds like and how long they have to make a safe escape—30 seconds might seem like a short amount of time, but the spark test helps put into perspective how much time you actually have.
