In order to function properly, TASER devices need their batteries replaced every couple of years--depending on use. While batteries are designed to last about 2 years in a device, you should test the battery at least once a month. Both TASER Pulse and TASER Bolt have a built-in, color coded battery indicator. On the Pulse, this is located just below the rear sight. The TASER Bolt's indicator is found with the trigger button towards the front of the device. The color code is listed below:
