“Dont’ tase me, bro,” has become part of our lexicon. People are familiar with that phrase from an incident at the University of Florida involving Andrew Meyer during US Senator John Kerry’s event. TASER electronic control devices are ubquitous now on TV shows, movies, game show trivia, crosswords & let’s not forget on the reality shows like Police POV & of course the long-running Cops. We see everything from humorous depictions (The Simpsons, Family Guy & The Hangover) to dramatic scenes on cop shows (Hawaii 5-0, CSI Miami & Law & Order). Our product even knocked out Thor with a single TASER C2 hit (which doesn’t happen in real life by the way).
We often get asked if we like this? Well, yes, we do overall. We’re part of today’s pop cultural and certainly the technology has become relevant. You don’t want your 15 minutes of fame only to blow away in the wind.
However, there is a price to pay for this pop cultural. The main price is miseducation and ultimately brand perception. It’s not all it’s cracked up to be when you have “rock star” fame in law enforcement while often being infamous more so than famous with the public. The inaccurate depictions that are so often shown in these shows & movies only lead to more misinformation about TASER ECDs.

1) You should not judge uelnss you have walked in an officers shoes2) The man plainly states the he held on to the wheel chair and if he was ordered to let go and he refused that is RESISTING ARREST3) He stated that he held on because he thought they were going to throw him out of the chair WHAT REASON DID HE HAVE TO THINK THAT4) CPS does NOT take a child into custody for no reason you are hard pressed to get CPS to take a child in this day and time5) THIS WAS A DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SITUATION6) Cops are killed more in domestic violence situations than any other7) It seems to me they tried everything they could to get him to turn loose AND IF YOU WATCH THE VIDEO CLOSELY YOU WILL SEE HOW MANY TIMES HE TRIED TO JUSTIFY HIMSELF HOLDING ON TO THE WHEELCHAIR Just because he is in a wheelchair gives him NO RIGHT to be treated any differently than anyone else9) Do you know for a fact that the cops knew that he did not have a weapon behind him in that wheelchair (IT HAS BEEN MY EXPERIENCE MOST PEOPLE IN A WHEELCHAIR KEEP SOMETHING WITH THEM AT ALL TIMES FOR PROTECTION AS THEY SHOULD)10) Lets not judge until we know all the facts There was a problem out there or the police would not have been called11) Why would he not just let go of the child and the wheelchair12) Let the camera tell the story not just this individual there is always 3 sides to every story his, theres, and in between13) Has anyone thought that maybe he was doing something wrong and maybe now he is looking for sympathy so that he can file a lawsuit14) How many times have the police been called out on a domestic at this home and what have the police had to deal with on the other occasions if they have been called out to that mans home maybe they know something that we dont like maybe everytime they go out there they have to fight this man or maybe he has been on drugs or had a weapon before when they were called out there15) You cannot judge a book by its cover some of the smallest people or are on drugs or off their meds can be some of the hardest to deal with or even fight with
