How far can a TASER cartridge shoot?

TASER cartridges, both the professional series and consumer products, can operate within a 15-foot (4.6-meter) radius, giving you a safety buffer between yourself and danger.

What is the shelf-life of a TASER cartridge?

Each TASER Pulse and TASER Bolt cartridge has a 5-year shelf life. The expiration date is printed on each individual cartridge.

How many shots are in a TASER cartridge?

Each cartridge contains one set of probes that will deploy downrange when the trigger is pulled. However, after the initial trigger pull (or button press, with the Bolt device), each subsequent trigger pull will restart a 30-second cycle of electricity traveling down the wires to the probes. Additional trigger pulls during the 30-second cycle will not extend the cycle unless the trigger is held back.

Do you still offer training-only, simulation cartridges?

No. We used to manufacture a blue cartridge that would not deliver an electric charge, but still fire probes downrange. However, it is more helpful to train with live-cartridges on a conductive target so you can visualize the effects of the electricity once your probes make contact.

What's with the confetti that shoots from my TASER cartridge?

Those are called AFIDS, or anti-felon identification tags. Each cartridge contains 20-30 AFIDs with the cartridge serial number printed on them to help law enforcement should a TASER device be used in an unlawful manner. This helps to ensure that TASER devices are utilized in a self-defense capacity only.
