Kydex holsters are a great option for those seeking a sturdier way to discreetly carry a TASER Pulse in their daily life. Today, we learn about the Blade-Tech Kydex holster options for the TASER Pulse conducted electrical weapon (CEW).

What is Kydex?

According to the manufacturer SEKISUI Chemical, Kydex is a “high-impact, fire-rated acrylic-modified PVC thermoplastic sheet...ideal for hard-to-form parts for a wide-range of applications.” SEKISUI Chemical noted that the product “quickly gained a reputation as an extremely durable, chemical resistant, and fire retardant polymer innovation.”

For these reasons, Kydex has found a home in many industries including the weapon holster industry.

Benefits of a Kydex Holster

There are two Kydex holsters available for the TASER Pulse CEW, both of which must be secured with a belt. Therefore, it seems these holsters are more suitable for carrying around the town, and not ideal when wearing athletic attire.

A Kydex holster offers increased protection. Due to the precision molded Kydex frame, which specifically fits the nooks and crannies of the TASER Pulse, TASER devices are held snugly in place. Additionally, the Kydex holsters are designed to actuate the safety to the “OFF” position when holstered, and secure the trigger. Should an accidental discharge occur, the Blade-Tech Kydex holsters are designed to stop probes from firing through the holster.

The Blade-Tech OWB holster is designed to work on the outside of the waistband, secured with a belt. The Blade-Tech OWB holster is secured with a Universal Belt Clip and TEK-LOK attachment that can be adjusted to fit belts of various width and thickness. The TEK-LOK has also been contoured to better fit the profile of the body and to eliminate hot spots.

Similar to the Blade-Tech OWB, the Blade-Tech IWB holster is secured to the waistband with a belt; however, this holster rests inside the waistband. Blade-Tech uses adjustable “Pull the Dot” straps that easily snap onto the belt. These straps are adjustable for belts ranging from 1 ¼” – 1 ¾”.
